Tips for a Safe and Enjoyable Race
Review Pre-Race Instructions: Reading all pre-race materials helps guide you through the course safely and ensures a smoother race experience for everyone.
Line Up by Pace: Start according to your pace: fastest runners at the front, slower runners and walkers at the back. Proper alignment keeps everyone safe and prevents bottlenecks.
Run or Walk No More Than Two Abreast: Keep a maximum of two abreast to avoid blocking others. If chatting with friends, be mindful of other participants passing by.
Smile! Cameras may be on course, at the finish line, or during post-race festivities—so enjoy the moment!
Use Water Stops Courteously: Don’t slow or stop abruptly in front of faster participants. Dispose of cups responsibly to keep the course safe for everyone.
Thank the Volunteers: Volunteers make races possible—smile, wave, or say “thank you” to show your appreciation.
Slow Down or Stop Safely: Walk-run intervals or breaks are fine—always move to the side so others can pass safely.
Clear the Finish Chute: Keep moving past the finish line to avoid collisions with other finishers and allow volunteers to assist efficiently.
Follow All Course Signs and Staff Instructions: Pay attention to markers and directions—they help everyone stay safe and enjoy the race.
